Vinod Marar, born in India in 1971, moved to United Kingdom as an IT professional in 2000.
Events in 2005 changed his life for ever as he had a massive Stroke which left him paralysed on his right-side along with dyspraxia and dysphasia (speech difficulties). Ongoing therapy helped Vinod become independent over the years but he was not able to go back to his previous job due to the effects of Stroke (mainly speech issues and not being able to use his right hand).
In December 2010 members of his local stroke group in Brentford encouraged him to start painting which helped open new horizons and venues.
Vinod has no formal training in painting and always a right-hander he now uses his left-hand to paint. He works with Oil, Watercolour and Acrylic colours and enjoys making paintings. The use of brush strokes and colours is the new way of communication for him. Each painting is a progress from the previous one and gives him the much needed confidence and hope that there is more to life.
